Pickleball Social
This past June, APAN and DC Hoos co-hosted a social and networking event at Down the Line Sports Center in Annandale, Virginia, on June 27. Some members of the Pickleball Club at UVA, which won the 2023 national title, joined us. One of its stars, Vivianne Ngo (Col class of ’27), provided us with stern competition as well as guidance to beginning pickleballers. We were in good company!
Alumni Summer Mixer
APAN, Ubunye, and the Bolívar Network co-hosted a UVA alumni mixer at Sudhouse in Washington, D.C., and Palermo Gramercy in NYC. This was the second summer holding this event, and we were pleased to see even more people come out this year!
2026 Multicultural Graduate Reception
Randy Wong, APAN Chair, was a guest speaker at this year’s Multicultural Graduate Reception, hosted by the UVA Alumni Association. The reception honored graduating students from diverse cultural backgrounds and celebrated their unique contributions to UVA. APAN is proud to welcome the Class of 2026 into the UVA alumni community!
Hoos on the Green with Ju Hee
UVA Golf alumna and professional golfer Ju Hee Bae (Col class of ’18) provided golf instruction to aspiring and amateur APAN golfers at her premier indoor golf simulator facility, Golfhouse, in Ashburn, Virginia. Thank you to Ju Hee and to all who came out!
Asian Alumni Weekend
Thank you to everyone who joined us on Grounds April 24-26, 2026, to celebrate the APAN community and honor our scholarship and award recipients! This year’s Asian Alumni Weekend included the Spring Celebration honoring our four $5,000 Scholarship Awardees and our AAPI Awardee, Professor Sylvia Chong. Other exciting activities included a trip to Foxfield races and post-event celebrations on the Downtown Mall and North Grounds. The weekend finale was Bodo’s with the APAN Board of Directors.
March Alumni Mixer
APAN sponsored a mixer in Arlington, Virginia. Good food, good drink, and good company. Thanks to all who attended!
