Welcome to APAN!

APAN is an inclusive organization committed to supporting the broader Asian community and individuals interested in our diverse cultures. Our primary objective is to serve the 33,000 Asian alumni of the University of Virginia. As the largest minority alumni group at UVA, we possess influence, a voice, and the responsibility to utilize this voice judiciously—to benefit not only Asian alumni but also the entire University community.

Our Mission:

To establish and foster an Asian Pacific alumni network that cultivates and sustains connections with the University of Virginia community.

Our Goals:

  • Cultivate an Asian Pacific alumni community by expanding APAN’s membership through collaboration, coordination, and cooperation
  • Establish a social network and provide opportunities for the exchange of knowledge among alumni, students, and faculty
  • Offer a career professional network for both alumni and students
  • Support the University’s various Asian student organizations
  • Provide scholarships for students who:
    • Demonstrate outstanding leadership skills
    • Make meaningful contributions to the Asian community
    • Have a financial need
  • Mentor current students and young alumni to enhance their experiences
  • Assist in the recruitment and retention of Asian students
  • Provide a platform for the Asian community to voice its concerns and aspirations within the University of Virginia
