Alumni Board President Report

Brothers,

I’m excited to share that the Xi Chapter is officially back on Grounds at the University of Virginia. This milestone represents a tremendous amount of work by many alumni and undergraduate leaders over the past year, and we are grateful to everyone who helped make it possible.

Over the past several months, the chapter has successfully completed the steps required for reinstatement with both the University and the National fraternity. UVA has formally approved our return, and the undergraduate members have signed the Fraternal Organization Agreement (FOA), restoring Xi as a recognized organization on Grounds. In addition, the Inter-Fraternity Council (IFC) voted unanimously to return Theta Chi to the council.

The final step in the process will be the formal return of our Theta Chi charter, which will take place during the Xi Chapter Reinstatement Ceremony this spring.

We are also pleased to report that the chapter recently completed a very successful spring rush, welcoming 42 new members into the brotherhood. A larger class was required to get the chapter up and running after missing out on rush last year. The new member education process is currently underway and is being closely monitored by our Alumni Probationary Committee, consisting of John Elliott (Col class of ’74), Spencer Phillips (Col class of ’85), Ross Holden (Col class of ’75), and myself, to ensure the chapter is building a strong culture and operating in alignment with University and National expectations.

To celebrate this milestone, we are planning our official Xi Chapter Reinstatement Ceremony on Saturday, April 18, on Grounds in Charlottesville (exact location TBD). We would love to have as many alumni present as possible to mark this moment and welcome the chapter back. If you are interested in attending, please fill out this attendance form so we can plan accordingly.

Let us know your plans

As we enter this next chapter, the continued success of Xi will depend heavily on the support of our alumni network. If you are able, we encourage you to support the chapter with a donation, which will help fund leadership programming, alumni engagement events, and resources for the undergraduate brothers as they rebuild the chapter.

Thank you again to everyone who helped bring Xi back to Grounds. The work is just beginning, but the future of the chapter is bright.

Fraternally,
Miles Kirwin (Col class of ’13)
