This semester, a number of alumni of all ages returned to their old stomping ground to relive their glory days. We had a wonderful turnout, and it was truly wonderful to see so many familiar faces back at the house. Brothers and Alumni engaged amicably for a tailgate, where many played games together and had […]
This semester saw a tremendous amount of philanthropic endeavors, both through finances and volunteering. We have continued our trend of Brotherhood donations, both to funds to end Alzheimer’s, Relay for Life and for the American Cancer Association. A surprisingly large amount of Brothers hauled themselves out of bed on a dreary Saturday morning at 8:30 […]
This semester, we continued our outstanding academics by maintaining our position in the Top Ten Fraternity GPA list. Our brothers have been working extremely hard to perform well in the classroom, and we are very pleased to see continued positive results. We are also pleased to announce that three members of the Nu pledge class […]
This semester, we are proud to announce that we have maintained our good standing with Nationals, UVa’s Inter-Fraternity Council (IFC) and the university as a whole. That is one of our primary objectives as a chapter, and we are very pleased that everything has gone smoothly in this past semester. In response to changes and […]
I would be remiss if I failed to acknowledge all of the work that Jimmy Humphrey and the Beta Psi Housing Corporation have done to precipitate positive housing changes. Last semester, Jimmy made it his mission to renovate and upgrade the chapter room, which is the first room on the left in the front of […]
Dear Alumni, Allow me to preface this letter by graciously thanking everyone who contributed to refurbish the chapter room, porch, and first floor of the house. Specifically, I would like to thank The Beta Psi Housing Corporation for their extensive work and generosity in improving our house. Our appreciation for their work cannot be overstated, […]
Letter from the Alumni Recorder When I accepted the position of Alumni Recorder for the chapter, I had two primary goals: I wanted to revamp the website and expand the Brotherhood newsletter. The website, while informative, offered very little reason to habitually visit it. Sean Roesch, the former Historian, and I created a photo gallery […]
A large portion of the brotherhood participated in Habitat for Humanity this year, working to help the less fortunate members of the Charlottesville community. Brothers spent a day building furniture at Habitat for Humanity’s Charlottesville jobsite. We also organized a canned food drive that generated over one hundred cans for the Methodist Church Food […]
Joseph Linzon, a fourth-year brother in the Mu pledge class, has been working to open a new restaurant on The Corner that will offer a healthy alternative to some of the food options around the university. Named “Roots,” this restaurant will be a salad restaurant that plans to use only the highest quality ingredients from […]
The overall GPA of the Brotherhood has been increasing for the past few semesters, and the Brotherhood is currently recognized as being in the top ten of frats based on GPA rankings. The average GPA of the Brotherhood is currently 3.32, which is higher than the university as a whole. Last spring, six candidates (now […]
