It’s almost time! We are looking forward to spending next weekend with you in Charlottesville and celebrating this year’s award recipients at QVA’s 27th annual Gala Weekend.
We are excited to spend the evening celebrating these incredible advocates and this year’s scholarship recipients! This year, we will recognize Bizz Glover, Co-Chair of UVA Health’s LGBTQ & Transgender Advisory Committee, with the Bernard Mayes Award; Rachel Spraker, UVA’s Assistant Vice President for Community Wellbeing & Equal Opportunity, with the Outstanding Service Award; and Rebecca Gilbert, a retired nurse manager at UVA Health, with the V. Shamim Sisson Ally of the Year Award.

Accessibility
If you have a valid disabled permit or license plate displayed, you may park in an accessible parking space anywhere on Grounds. Additionally, accessible University Transit Buses run regularly throughout Grounds, with a special football shuttle running on gamedays. View the interactive UTS map here.

Attire
Most guests typically wear business attire for the Gala dinner, but we want everyone to feel comfortable at our events. Other weekend events are at guests’ discretion, though business casual is commonly worn. A little flair is certainly welcome!

If you choose to enjoy wine or beer, please be sure not to overindulge and make certain that you do not drive. If for any reason or at any time you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, please find a member of the QVA Board of Directors so that the situation can be addressed.

Parking
Paid visitor parking is available in The Central Grounds Garage*, located under the University Bookstore, through ParkMobile. We recommend this lot for our Sunday Bernard Mayes Luncheon & Panel Discussion event.
ParkMobile is available via app or by calling 877-727-5758. Please note: there is a $5 registration fee by ParkMobile if setting up an account through a phone call.

Parking at the Forum
Here are our two parking options for the Forum:
The Law School parking lot D-2: We strongly encourage guests to park here at no cost. Though this lot is not affiliated with the hotel, it is very close by.

Valet parking at the Forum: When the D-2 Lot is full, valet parking will be available at the Forum for up to 12 hours for the Friday Welcome Reception and Saturday Gala events. Please mention you are here for QVA so you receive our discounted rate. After 12 hours, you will be responsible for the full standard rate of $29/day.
Gameday Parking
Parking for home football games is available in select locations around Grounds — for more information, consult UVA’s Event Parking page and the Virginia Sports website.
