John E. Clarkson (Col class of ’53, Law class of ’58)
John E. Clarkson attended Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia, a place that profoundly shaped his life and character. He graduated in 1948, serving as Head Monitor, Captain of the Track Team, and a member of the varsity football team.
He went on to graduate from the University of Virginia in 1953, where he was president of the DKE fraternity and participated in varsity football, wrestling, and track. He also served as president of the Inter-Fraternity Council and was a member of TILKA, the Z Society, the 13 Society, and the Raven Society.

Douglas Munder Godine Sr. (Col class of ’57)
Douglas Godine graduated from Gilman School in 1953 and attended the University of Virginia, receiving a BA in 1957. At Virginia, he was the President of Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, Student Council Vice President, a member of the 333 Committee. He was President of the IMP Society, President of Eli Banana, and a member of the 7 Society. He was also named an All-American lacrosse player for UVA in 1955.

James Davant “Chief” Latham (Col class of ’53)
James Davant Latham attended the Woodberry Forest School in Orange, Virginia, where he excelled as both an athlete and an all-around student. Latham was more than an athlete — he was a prefect and the president of his senior class. His character, integrity and leadership were so esteemed that Latham was awarded Woodberry’s highest honor, the Archer Christian Memorial Medal.
The University of Virginia followed the Woodberry Forest School for Latham, where he continued his athletic career as a track star. He was given the Henry Cummins Memorial Trophy, the highest athletic award at UVA. He was a proud member of DKE Fraternity and was elected student body president. His personality, character and leadership caused him to be tapped into almost every honorary society at UVA, including Eli Banana, the IMP Society, and the greatest honor of all, the Seven Society.
