2026 Raven Fellowship Application<\/span><\/h2>\n

The University of Virginia\u2019s Raven Society invites applications for its 2026 Raven Fellowships. The Society established the Raven Fellowships in 1984 to encourage undergraduate and graduate student pursuit of scholarly, intellectual, and creative projects. The Raven Society endeavors to bring together outstanding students, faculty, administrators, and alumni of the various schools of the University so that they may derive the benefits of mutual acquaintance in pursuit of diligent scholarship and intellectual activity beyond the limits of systematic work in the classroom. As such, the Raven Fellowships target innovative research projects that cross disciplines in novel ways. While all applications will be reviewed, special consideration will be given to those projects with an interdisciplinary focus.<\/p>\n

The deadline for the 2026 application is Sunday, March 22nd, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET.<\/strong> Applications received after this deadline will not be considered. All application materials, including letters of reference, should be submitted via the linked Google Forms in the application. Interviews for selected finalists will be held from March 30 – April 1, 2026. For further inquiries about the application process, you may consult the posted Frequently Asked Questions document<\/a>. Application Components<\/span><\/h2>\n

The forms below are not managed by the UVA Alumni Association and are not covered by the Alumni Association’s privacy policy.<\/em><\/p>\n

Please submit all of the following materials, except<\/em> the letters of recommendation, as a single document attachment in .pdf format<\/strong> to the following link: 2026 Raven Fellowship Application Submission<\/a>. Please name the document \u201cFellowship_Lastname_Firstname.pdf\u201d.<\/p>\n

Submit the materials in the following order:<\/p>\n

1. The attached application form
\n2. The attached budget form, signed by your faculty supervisor
\n3. Your project proposal (contents described below)
\n4. Your resume or CV
\n5. Unofficial transcripts from all colleges attended (undergraduate and graduate)
\n6. A primary letter of recommendation*, from the faculty member who signs the budget proposal (sent separately by your recommender)
\n7. A second letter of recommendation* (optional<\/strong>; sent separately by your recommender)<\/p>\n
