As the end of the school year approaches, it is the perfect time to look back on the year and assess the current state of the brotherhood. It is clear that Phi Society has had another successful year at the University and continues to thrive around grounds.<\/p>\n

Extracurricular Activitie<\/strong>s: The brotherhood is very active within the University and the Charlottesville community. We have brothers involved in Student Council, Charlottesville Rescue Squad, the Interfraternity Council Judiciary Committee, the IMP Society, and many other organizations. The academic record is still strong with brothers participating in the Echols Scholar and Arts Scholar programs. 4th Year brother Taylor Parr has recently stepped down as the Head Judge for the IFC-JC. There are also multiple brothers active in the Virginia Venture Fund.\u00a0 3d-year brother Andrew Hayden is Co-Founder and President of the Fund, which is designed to educate students about the venture capital and entrepreneurial process.<\/p>\n

Athletic<\/strong>s: Phi Society remains involved in a number of Club teams, namely lacrosse, cross-country, baseball, and volleyball. 4th year brother Ian Feeney, a four year member of the UVa Men\u2019s Crew, rowed in the UVa eight which captured first place in the Murphy Cup in Camden, NJ last March. He also rowed in the Henley Royal Regatta during July in Henley-on-Thames, England. 2d year brother Jake Kozloski has served as Fleet Captain for the Club Sailing team, and 4th year Ricky Wesnofske stars on the Club Baseball team as leadoff batter.<\/p>\n

Internships and Careers<\/strong>:\u00a0 Each\u00a0 year the brotherhood prides itself in accepting positions and internships at prestigious companies.
\nAndrew Krouch (\u201813) is with Fannie Mae, Chris Clark (\u201813) is with UBS, Baird Snyder (\u201813) is with FTI Consulting, and Evghenii Storoja (\u201813) is with PNC. A number of fourth years have recently accepted jobs including Lex Alvarez (\u201914) who will be with Sagent Advisors, Dylan Lam with Moelis & Company, Ryan Dodge with Wilkinson O\u2019Grady & Co., and Mac Wilkinson at Offit Capital. Andrew Esposito (\u201913) is currently attending George Washington University Law School and Taylor Parr (\u201914) has been accepted into VCU Dental School. Aaron Shroyer (\u201914) has also been accepted into the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy.<\/p>\n

Cudlip<\/strong>:\u00a0 This year the24th Jeffrey Cudlip Ceremony will takeplace at the House on April 25th, and we hope to see many alumni in attendance in conjunction with Founder\u2019s Day dinner at the House the night before and Foxfield the next day.\u00a0 (For information,contact Alumni Chair, Kyle Padden at kpp3ma@virginia.edu or 602-999-6927.)\u00a0 The 2014 Cudlip winner is Henry Peltz \u201816; the presentation will include a medal and financial award, undertaken by Jeffrey\u2019s sister Charlotte and a University official representing President Sullivan. The ceremony will be preceded by the annual Cudlip and Virginia Beta Trustees dinner, hosted by Scott Oswald \u201990.\u00a0\u00a0 The 2013 winner was Ricky Wesnofske \u201914 who received the Cudlip award for his outstandingwork during the 2012 pledging semester.<\/p>\n

Philanthropy<\/strong>: Our annual philanthropy event, The Phi Fish Fry, took place on April 11, with a goal that $2500 or more will be raised for the Autism Speaks organization.\u00a0 This semester several brothers volunteered biweekly for Habitat for Humanity, and led by Brother Kevin Keenan \u201816, brothers and pledges have been helping build and paint houses in Charlottesville.<\/p>\n
