On November 30, 1878, the Honorary Society of Eli Banana was established as an organization dedicated to good fellowship and supporting our beloved University. During our 100 year anniversary celebration, the Eli Banana Fund was created as a vehicle to provide financial support to the University with the purpose of furthering the mission and values of Eli Banana.
During a recent Eli Banana Fund Board of Directors meeting, it was unanimously agreed upon that the Fund should formally recognize certain gentlemen of the University whose lives have reflected the core values of Eli Banana—namely “men who have the widest sympathies for his fellow men and the broadest capacity for enjoying the good things in life”—through our Mystic Order of Honorary Big Bananas award.
We are pleased to announce Eli Watson Tullis (Col ’51) as the charter member of The Mystic Order of Honorary Big Bananas. Mr. Tullis’ dedication to the University is well documented. His passion for living, his great charm and wit, his sympathies for his fellow men and broadest capacity for enjoying the good things of life have inspired this recognition. Let this proclamation remain inscribed in the permanent records of the Eli Banana Fund.
Faithfully in Crackloo!!
