Julia Horowitz, editor-in-chief of The Cavalier Daily.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Associated Press has recognized Julia Horowitz, summer 2015 intern in the Sacramento bureau and editor-in-chief of The Cavalier Daily<\/em>, with its Best of the States Award for her reporting.<\/p>\n

Horowitz wrote a story<\/a> about the lack of oversight of a California green jobs program. Her story has prompted numerous newspaper editorials, including those in\u00a0The Los Angeles Times<\/a><\/em> and The San Francisco Chronicle<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

Horowitz reported and wrote the story all while juggling daily assignments for her AP bureau and working on\u00a0projects for The Cavalier Daily<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The AP Best of the States Award recognizes\u00a0enterprise reporting in AP’s regional bureaus, outside of its\u00a0Washington and international offices.<\/p>\n
