We are an inclusive organization dedicated to supporting the greater Asian community and those who have an interest in our multifaceted cultures. AAPAAN is here to serve you and the 30,000 Asian alumni of the University. As the largest minority UVA alumni group, we have influence, a voice, and the responsibility of using that voice wisely \u2014 to benefit not only Asian alumni, but also the broader University community.<\/p>\n<p>Our efforts to build a strong alumni network will benefit not only students on Grounds and alumni worldwide, but also the future of AAPIs at the University. We hope that you will <a href=\"https:\/\/alumni.virginia.edu\/aig\/communication-opt-in\/\">join the AAPAAN mailing list<\/a>, attend our <a href=\"https:\/\/aig.uvaalumni.org\/aapaan\/events-news\/\">events<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/aig.uvaalumni.org\/aapaan\/get-involved\/\">get involved<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/aig.uvaalumni.org\/aapaan\/support-aapaan\/\">support our mission<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Our Mission:<\/h2>\n<p>To provide an Asian alumni network that builds and supports connections with the University of Virginia community.<\/p>\n<h2>Our Goals:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Foster an Asian alumni community by growing AAPAAN&#8217;s membership<\/li>\n<li>Provide a social network and opportunities for the exchange of knowledge for alumni, students, and faculty<\/li>\n<li>Support the University&#8217;s various Asian student organizations<\/li>\n<li>Aid in the recruitment and retention of Asian students<\/li>\n<li>Provide <a href=\"https:\/\/aig.uvaalumni.org\/aapaan\/aapaan-scholarships\/\">scholarships<\/a> for students who:\n<ul>\n<li>Display leadership skills<\/li>\n<li>Make contributions to the Asian community<\/li>\n<li>Have financial need<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Mentor current students and enrich their experiences<\/li>\n<li>Provide a career network for both alumni and students<\/li>\n<li>Provide a voice for the Asian community within the University of Virginia<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to AAPAAN AAPAAN was conceived in the summer of 1998 as a collaboration of the Asian Student Union President and the Alumni Association.
