About the AAPAAN Scholarship Application Process
- Who is eligible to apply for an AAPAAN scholarship?
- Application for AAPAAN scholarships is open to all 1st to 3rd year undergraduate students at UVA regardless of their ethnic origin or cultural heritage. We seek to present these awards to those who have demonstrated merit, academic achievement, leadership in their communities, and a strong interest in studying and/or promoting Asian cultures.
- How do I apply for AAPAAN scholarships?
- Applications for AAPAAN scholarships will be available through the UVA Alumni AwardSpring platform. All applicants will need to set up their account via email and password to register and submit. After completing the general application, any applicant whose AwardSpring profile meets the AAPAAN scholarship qualifications will be directed towards the AAPAAN scholarships, as well as any other scholarships they are qualified for. Qualified applicants can then choose to apply for any AAPAAN scholarship by completing the required essay questions.
- Can non-Asian students apply for AAPAAN scholarships?
- Yes. The only factors used in the matching process are your school year and your response to the qualifying question in the general application. No other factors are considered.
- I will graduate this upcoming or current spring semester. Am I qualified for an AAPAAN scholarship?
- No. Students with anticipated graduation dates during the upcoming or current spring semester will not be considered.
- When does the application open and close?
- Applications typically open during the 2nd week of January and close at the beginning of February.
- When and how will I receive an update on my application?
- A notification email will be sent to you in March after the Scholarship Committee has made its four awardee selections.
