Bill Carmody \u201988<\/strong>\u00a0is a partner in the law firm Purrington Moody Weil LLP, where he has been practicing since 2007 in the areas of private equity, M&A and corporate finance.\u00a0 Prior to joining PMW, Bill was a partner at Arnold & Porter LLP, where he had practiced commercial real estate since 1994.\u00a0 Bill has wide-ranging experience in both US-based and international commercial transactions, and has a clientele that includes private equity firms, FORTUNE 500 companies, start-ups and real estate developers.\u00a0 He currently lives in Virginia with his wife Pam (Commerce \u201988) and his two kids.\u00a0 Bill is a member of the board of directors of the 150 Madison Lane Preservation Fund.<\/p>\n

Jim La Fleur \u201991\u00a0<\/strong>is a history professor and lives in Albemarle County, Virginia. He is President of the 150 Madison Lane Preservation Fund.<\/p>\n

William Lawrence \u201988<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bryant Thomas ’07<\/strong>\u00a0Bryant is the Director of Government Relations for Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters. He is based in Norfolk, VA and supports legislative affairs at the local, state, and federal levels.\u00a0Bryant is a graduate of the University of Virginia (College ’07) and has his law degree from the University of Richmond. He joined CHKD after nearly five years as the Director of Government Relations with Norfolk Southern Corporation. Prior to NS, Bryant worked with Mayor Paul D. Fraim at the City of Norfolk, where he served as the Mayor’s Executive Assistant for almost three years. He has experience prior to that as a Law Clerk with several Hampton Roads area firms and also served as an intern in the George W. Bush White House.\u00a0While at UVa, Bryant served as president of the house and also walked on to the Varsity Football team.\u00a0Byrant is Treasurer of the 150 Madison Lane Preservation Fund.<\/p>\n

Rafael X. Zahralddin-Aravena \u201989<\/strong> is an attorney and partner at Lewis Brisbois LLP.\u00a0 He is a corporate and commercial litigator who also specializes in corporate restructuring and distressed mergers and acquisitions.\u00a0 He has been the lead Delaware lawyer in multiple Creditor\u2019s Committee representations and represented several of the largest Debtors in U.S. Chapter 11 proceedings, including the successful reorganizations of United Artists Theatres and Orleans Homebuilders.\u00a0 He has also served as special litigation counsel to both Committees and Debtors, notably for the Debtors in the Washington Mutual bankruptcy, which is the largest bank holding company\u00a0insolvency in the history of the United States.\u00a0 He also represents various individual creditors nationally, including many Fortune 500 and Inc. 100 companies, most recently in the Second, Fourth, Sixth and Ninth Circuits, and in the influential districts of Delaware and the Southern District of New York.\u00a0 He has also represented\u00a0many large foreign corporation as\u00a0creditors in U.S. bankruptcies and Debtors in\u00a0several cross border bankruptcies, most recently in the sale of a large Canadian wood products corporation to\u00a0one of the world\u2019s\u00a0leading manufacturers and marketers of tissue, packaging, paper, pulp, and building products and served as counsel to the\u00a0island nation of Nevis in the Caribbean.\u00a0 He earned his law degree at Delaware Law (Widener) School and holds an LL.M in International and Comparative Law from Georgetown University School of Law, where he was a\u00a0Senior Writing Fellow.\u00a0 Prior to returning to practice he was\u00a0a tenure track professor at Chapman University School of Law where he was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor of Law.\u00a0 He is a frequent speaker and writer and has been widely published.\u00a0 He is a member of the Board of Governors for the Hispanic National Bar Association and has held multiple leadership positions in the American Bankruptcy Institute and the American Bar Association.\u00a0Most recently, he served as a Business Law Ambassador to the Business Law Section of the ABA.\u00a0 He lives\u00a0in Centreville, Delaware with his wife, son and daughter.\u00a0He is a member of the board of the 150 Madison Lane Preservation Fund.<\/p>\n

In Memoriam<\/u><\/p>\n

Denis O’Sullivan \u201986<\/strong> passed away peacefully on July 25, 2021. He served as the treasurer of the Fund upon its formation, and he lent his expertise with accounting and finance to the renovation project.<\/p>\n

Richard Clay <\/strong>\u201977<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>passed away on April 8, 2020.\u00a0He practiced law solo in Danville, Kentucky, following the tradition of his brothers, father, and grandfather.\u00a0 He served on the board of the 150 Madison Lane Preservation Fund, and was our muse and wordsmith.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
